The kids events takes place this Sunday starting at 9:30 AM at Pike & Rose. Please take a few moments to read these important instructions to ensure all participants have a smooth race day!
Packet Pick-Up
The best time to pick up your bib and t-shirt is on Saturday, April 23rd between 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM at RnJ Sports, 11910-R Parklawn Drive, Rockville. Additional parking is located in the back of the store (you will need to walk around to the front entrance). Please come to packet pickup with your bib number in hand for a faster and more efficient pickup. You can find your bib number by using the "Find a Participant" tool on our website.
Can’t make it on Saturday? A limited packet pickup will take place on race morning (Sunday, April 24th) starting at 8:30 AM in Rose Park next to the 10K finish line. Please plan to arrive early. Again, we strongly encourage attending packet pickup on Saturday.
Race Day Registration
There are limited spots at packet pickup on race morning, so tell a friend! However, we strongly recommend pre-registering.
Getting to the Race
Note that 355 Southbound will be closed for the 10K near Pike & Rose. Please use the Towne Street detour to Old Georgetown Road to enter Pike & Rose. The Trade Street, Old Georgetown, and Prose Street parking lots will be open during the event.
Bag Check
There is no bag check for the kids' events.
The Start
Please plan to arrive at Rose Park. Kids will be placed into two groups for their events: 50m participants and 1/4 mile participants. They will then be walked, as a group, to the start of each event about 5 minutes before the time of the start.

8:00 - 9:15 AM - Race Day Packet Pickup and Late Registration for the Kids' Runs
9:15 AM - Warm-ups
9:30 - 9:45 AM - 50 Meter Toddler Trot Heats (start on Rose Avenue) as follows:
Heat 1 (under 3)
Heat 2 (ages 3-4)
Heat 3 (ages 5 & older)
Parents may run with children in the toddler trot races, but please do not block other participants. Some heats may be combined depending on the number of participants. If there are a large number of participants, multiple heats within an age group will be run.
9:45 AM - Kids Fun Run – 1/4 Mile Run (start on southbound 355) as follows:
Heat 1 (ages 9 & older, including adults)
Heat 2 (ages 6 to 8)
Heat 3 (ages 3 to 5)
At the Finish
The kids will receive a medal and a bag of refreshments so they do not have to go through the food line of the 10K. If you, your friends, or family are looking for a post-race meal, you can enjoy a sandwich at Call Your Mother, Sunday brunch at Pinstripes, chicken at Nando’s, or brunch at Summer House!
Awards
All cash and age group awards will be mailed a few weeks after the race, but we will announce awards for pictures around 9:30 AM.
